Deck Building Day 7

So today was a pretty monotonous day. There's not a lot of excitment in laying deckboards so here's some pictures of the kids doing all the hard work for me :)

So of course, by lunchtime the sky was starting to look like this

So I really started to rush a few of the boards, fortunatly the clouds looked far worse than they actually were, it spat just enough to get everything wet, but not quite enough to chase me inside.

Tamara decided to come out and put in a couple of screws

And finally finshed most of the deck, I need to head out tomorrow and pick up and extra deck board and some protective sealer for the deck to fully finish it. I had enough deck boards but the one was pretty ugly looking, I was going to use but after consulting with tamara we both decided just to replace it.

So here's how the finished corners look, not the happiest with the ones on the longer angle, I had to cut most of them by hand, and they just didn't come out quite as straight as I would have liked.

and without further ado, here's the completed deck, minus one deckboard.

Looks pretty good with the deck chair doesn't it? Now I just have to decide what to do with all the scrap lumber, as I don't want to throw it out, but I really don't have anywhere to keep it. Anyway I'll post a few pics of the fully completed deck with the last board in tomorrow!
